Lisle, an old friend of ours, phoned us last night.  She was very, very sad.  She was crying. Her cat has gone missing.  He went out last Wednesday and still hasn't come home.

Lisl's cat's name is Ivan.  He's a big red killer.  Ivan kills birds, mice, rats, and even other cats. Ivan is wild.  

Lisl, of course, thinks Ivan is cute. It's nature, that's all. And, Ivan, she's sure, will come back again.  

Pets are important.  But, who needs an Ivan?  Lisl!  Lisl's now walking the streets of Vienna. "Ivan - Ivan - Ivan - where are you?  Come home to mummy!" 

Will Ivan come home?  Who knows?

We're planning an outing.  On Thursday.  We are thinking of going to Schlosshof.  It's somewhere we've always wanted to go to.

We have decided to go by train. Trains leave Vienna every hour from the Central Bahnhof.  The journey normally takes around 40 minutes.

The gardens of Schlosshof are said to be of great interest.  My wife likes gardens very much. Austrian gardens are beautiful.

We're having lunch at Schlosshof.  I'm sure we will find nice place to eat.

We plan on staying in Schlosshof until 4.  We hope to be back in Vienna by 5.  Hopefully, the weather will be nice.

Arriving at Horn station on Sunday

We went to Horn on Sunday. We took the train from Heiligenstadt. The train left at 08.20 in the morning. We had to change once. We arrived in Horn at just gone 11. After arriving in Horn, we walked to the Culture Centre. A friend of ours was selling her home-made scarves.

20 minutes was enough. We said goodbye and went to a restaurant for lunch. We were lucky. The restaurant we found was very, very good. Schweinsbraten. My favourite.

We spent the afternoon looking around Horn and having ice cream. Horn is a nice little town with 3 or 4 churches and many historical buildings. We had a very nice day.

Last week, I was looking through an old photo album.  Wonderful memories.  A family holiday.  Lake Constance.  I remember it well.   Three countries.  Austria, Switzerland and Germany. 

I often think back to Insel Mainau. An island of flowers.  I remeber how happy my three sisters were. I, too, was impressed. 

But, I remember the Zeppelins the most.  They came over each day.  From Friedrichs Hafen in Germany.  I remember their beauty.  The way they flew over the lake. 

Lake Constance.  A wonderful holiday.
